Daniel Owen Prize

Posted by Eryl Crump on August 7, 2007 1:27 PM |

Rumours suggest the Daniel Owen Memorial Prize, the largest monetary award at the Eisteddfod may not be awarded.

Sources on the Eisteddfod Maes suggest the adjudicators for the best unpublished novel cannot agree on a winner and may compromise and with-hold the £5,000 prize. We'll find out at 4.55pm.

Meanwhile the Eisteddfod has been described as the "happiest for many years".

Eisteddfod director said officials have had to deal with fewer problems this year than in the past.

Bearing in mind the problems staff and volunteers have faced in the past few weeks they deserve a break!
